The biggest challenge of this costume
was how to make it more modest without it looking
really cheesy. I've seen a lot of cosplay where
people's body suits really took away from the
costume. This being said, I took a chance and
worked with a bodysuit myself. My intentions were
to make the fabric look like my skin, so that
people could not tell at first, or even a second
glance.
Another challenge was the gravity
defying hair. I was able to find a plastic cone
to 'wrap' my naturally long hair around. With
a lot of Aqua Net, I was able to pull it off.
I did however have to buy bangs.
About three days before Otakon,
I began this costume. I made everything in intervals
of 2-4 hours of work, for three to four days.
I have to say that for the most part everything
went pretty smoothly.
The first time I wore this outfit
I realized a few things. The most important would
be the necessity of sewing my costume to the body
suit around the breast area. The 'shirt' kept
creeping up. I was wearing plenty of padding so
I wouldn't expose myself, even if there had been
some freak accident. You can see in some of the
images below where the 'shirt' should have been
lower. I also hadn't gotten a chance to make the
body suit look like my skin.
